In only six weeks, Stephen Gundlach has mastered the San Francisco coffee scene. Using espresso as the measuring stick, he's calculated that Blue Bottle is the best, Four Barrel is better than Ritual, and Starbucks is the worst. His opinions have caused a few discussions in the office, but we've learned that he's a trusted, jack of all trades.
Before moving to SF, Stephen attended Florida State University and Knox Theological Seminary in South Florida. At Knox, he completed his M.A. in Christianity and Culture, and now has one year left of his M.Div. While in seminary, Stephen successfully managed two of his brother's coffee shops in Ft. Lauderdale and made sure that the coffee "was not as burnt and stale as Starbucks." Apparently, going to seminary and managing coffee shops was not keeping him active enough, because during that same time he began training as a mixed martial artist and protected an entire Amazon village from Westernization with a chair and a shiny piece of metal.
Stephen joins our staff as a Pastoral Intern in the Spiritual Formation ministry. He'll be working with Rev. Anni Mingin on the courses and seminars we offer and helping you to connect with the church through membership & baptisms. We've also given him the title of Office Coffee Manager. Meet Stephen.
