Sometime last year I was sitting in my apartment, thinking about a move to San Francisco. I think I was on Twitter when I stumbled across some information about the Newbigin Fellowship. I was really interested, but I lived in Tampa and moving across the country didn't seem very likely. Fast forward to August of last year and my wife, Allie, and I were filling out our Newbigin applications while on a plane from Florida to California.
When we first started the fellowship nine months seemed like a long time. Looking back, I can't believe it's already over. One of the most valuable parts of the experience for me has been getting to know myself better as God shows me how my story fits into The Story. I've also made some great friends who've been a huge blessing in my and Allie's lives.
As past fellows have said before, I think I'm leaving with more questions that I came in with. Some of my old ones have been answered and new ones have popped up. But during the process I've gained a solid foundation for approaching some of the new questions. I also have a community of friends who've gone through the process with me I can lean on. It's been a great experience and I'm incredibly thankful for the last nine months as a Newbigin Fellow.
